What to Wear on Vacation

If you’re struggling with what to bring on a summer vacation, think “light.” The last thing you want to do is overload your suitcase with a bunch of clothing that won’t see the light of day once you arrive at your destination.

Dieing to know what to wear on vacation? Keep reading for my top picks:

  • Heading to a tropical paradise? Pack a couple of portable, easily wearable dresses like this one. They’ll pack nicely, and you won’t have to scramble through suitcases trying to find something to wear.
  • Don’t bring every pair of shoes from your closet. At the most, you should only bring three pairs of shoes; flip-flops, sneakers, and a pair of kitten heels or pumps for the evening.
  • Even if it’s 86 degrees, you’ll probably want to bring along a lightweight sweater just in case. A sweater like this one offers you both protection from the elements and versatility; you can throw it on over a pair of capris or skirt, or wear with jeans for a casual look.
  • A pair of sunglasses is an absolute must, and should really be one of the few accessories you bring.
  • While you should leave the majority of your accessories at home, don’t forget to bring a wide-brimmed hat.

Don’t let choosing what to wear on a vacation turn into a major ordeal; with these time and space-saving tips, you’ll look fantastic without having to lug around 8 suitcases on your trip.

How to Dress Up your Look After-Hours

How to Dress Up your Look After-HoursLet’s say it’s Friday and you’ve got hot plans after work. Somehow, I doubt you’re appropriately attired for whatever the evening might bring; generally speaking, office wear doesn’t easily translate to a night on the town.

Fortunately, I’ve got you covered. Here are a few simple things you can do to ensure you’re always ready for a night on the town after-hours.

While that briefcase you lug around all day at work may be office appropriate, it’s not a good idea to bring it along with you if you’ve been invited for after-work cocktails. Instead, keep a mini hobo bag or an evening purse in your desk or locker at all times.

That way, you still have enough room to hold all of your essentials, but you won’t have to drag around a huge bag with you.

To really ensure you’re covered for after-hours, keep a pair of sexy kitten heels or stilettos stashed away. That way, you can easily switch from your boring work shoes to a pair more worthy of an exciting night on the town.

If you don’t have the space to stash a whole party-worthy outfit at the office (and let’s face it, who does?), simply wear a skirt to work with a lacy camisole top tucked underneath your office-appropriate jacket. Ditch the jacket, and you’re left with a totally party-worthy ensemble – you don’t even have to change!

Of course, before you head out the door, make sure you spruce up your makeup just a tad. Chances are, you’ll want something a little more sultry than you’d normally wear to work, so take a few minutes in the bathroom to fix yourself up.

That’s all it takes to dress up your look after-hours; you can be ready to hit the town immediately after work, and look great doing it.

How to Look Like a Fashion Model for Less

How to Look Like a Fashion Model for LessBelieve it or not ladies, you can look like you just stepped from the glossy pages of a fashion magazine – without spending loads of cash.

While I’d love to snap up all the latest designer fashions when they happen, unfortunately I just don’t have the cash flow. I don’t know many women who do! Thankfully, you can still look like a million bucks – without paying that much!

First and foremost, QUALITY IS EVERYTHING! I know, I know; it’s hard to justify spending your hard earned paycheck on a well-made coat or handbag, but in reality you’re going to end up with more bang for your buck.

The key here is to buy only a few everyday pieces you need to last through the seasons. Don’t snap up that $200 blouse you’ll only wear a handful of times; instead, spend a bit more cash and invest in a well-tailored coat you’ll wear time and again. Quality fabrics do last longer, and while they may come with a higher price tag you’ll be assured your favorite basics don’t end up in the giveaway pile after a couple of wears.

You’ll also want to keep a close eye out for fashion sales. Hit up your favorite stores and find out when sales are expected to happen. You can snap up incredible deals on great fashion you would normally pay a lot more for, so it pays to keep a close eye on sales.

You could also scour Ebay for designer duds at a fraction of the cost you’d normally pay for them off the rack. Of course, there’s a potential to end up buying fakes here, but Ebay has a great buyer’s guide to let you know how to tell if that Fendi handbag or Prada sunglasses you’re buying are the real deal.

While you may not receive the fame and glory that comes with being a fashion model, you can at least dress like one for a lot less than you probably think. Just try the above tips, and you’ll see how far your dollar stretches.

Rock the look, girl!

How to Dress with Confidence

How to Dress with ConfidenceDo you have an important job interview coming up, or do you simply want to look your best whether you’re at work or around town? These simple tips will help you learn how to dress with confidence, no matter the occasion.

First and foremost, you need to find YOUR personal style. It sounds difficult, but in reality it’s all about what you want to wear. Do you love flirty wrap dresses or skinny jeans? Then rock ‘em! Remember, it’s all about wearing what makes you feel comfortable, stylish and fabulous.

If the latest trends don’t do justice for your personal taste or body type, don’t feel pressured into wearing them.

While they may be “in,” even the latest fashion trends won’t look good on you if you aren’t confident enough to pull them off. You have to feel good in your clothing in order to look good; unfortunately, that’s a fact many women forget when shopping for fashion.

Alternatively, if you’re dieing to try out the latest fashions but don’t know if you can pull them off, TRY THEM! You’ll never know what works well and what doesn’t without a little bit of trial and error.

Of course, you should always have a few wardrobe basics to fall back on; i.e., a few staples of clothing that you know without a doubt looks absolutely fantastic on you. Not only that, but you should choose clothes that you ENJOY wearing!

By experimenting with your personal style, you can find the perfect look for any occasion, whether it’s a formal event, a simple gathering of friends or an office meeting. By wearing what feels comfortable and looks good on you, you’ll learn how to dress with confidence no matter where you’re headed.

When you feel confident about what you’re wearing, you’ll know you’ve hit the nail on the head!

How to Look Good in 10 Minutes or Less

How to Look Good in 10 Minutes or LessWhile seemingly a daunting task, it’s quite possible for you to look good in 10 minutes – tops. Really!

If you’re anything like me, you have barely enough time to wipe the sleep out of your eyes in the A.M., let alone throw together a decent outfit, do your makeup and fix your hair.

Thankfully, I’ve compiled a few tips and tricks to help you look great in 10 minutes or less. All it takes is a little know-how, and you’ll be good to go once you walk out the door!

If you’re running low on time, reach for your favorite outfit. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; it just needs to be something you know you look great in. Whether you have a great pair of jeans, a camisole, a trench or a dress, pick an outfit that you look simply stunning in. Throw that on, and you’re already halfway done.

Do NOT underestimate the importance of a little makeup to make you look bright eyed and busy tailed in the morning. Even if you don’t wear much, a coat of mascara, a swipe of blush and a touch of lipgloss will make you look fresh and fabulous in 2 minutes. Seriously, try it – but wash your face first!

Now, do you have a favorite perfume? Of course you do – I don’t know a woman who doesn’t. Spritz a dab or two on your pulse points to not only wake you up, but make others take notice of how divine you smell.

Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating a teeeeeny bit… but seriously, don’t under-estimate the power of a little perfume.

Provided you didn’t throw anything extra into the mix, this all should have taken you 10 minutes or less. Look at yourself, girl! You’re positively glowing.

At least this way, even if you FEEL like climbing back into bed every morning you won’t look the part!
