Finding the Perfect Pair of Jeans

The perfect pair of jeans not only makes you look good; it makes you feel good to wear them. I’m always devastated when my “perfect” denim jeans bite the dust; usually, I can’t find the same pair anymore!

By now I’ve learned to buy at least three pairs of a jean when I fall in love with them (you should, too) but what if you’re searching for a NEW pair to replace your favorite standby?

Thankfully, I’ve come up with a few tips that will teach you how to find the the perfect pair of jeans every time.

  • Fit, NOT Fashion

While jeans should look good on the rack, they should also look good on your body, as well. If they’re too tight or too big in one place, then forget them – jeans should be form fitting, but not so tight you need a crowbar to pry them off. You should also be able to comfortable sit, stand and move around in them.

  • Designer Denim May be Worth It

If you can afford it, you may want to invest in a pair or two of designer jeans. While you may balk at the price, higher-quality denim actually does cost more to produce; as such, the price will pay off when you realize your designer jeans last longer. If you wear jeans frequently, buying a designer pair may be worth it.

  • Try, Try Again

The only way to find the perfect pair of jeans for your body type is to try on many pairs. Different body types will look better in certain cuts, so try on several different styles to find the pair that works for you.

Finding the perfect pair of jeans doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Simply follow these tips to make your next shopping trip a little easier!

What to Wear to a Wedding

If you’re struggling with what to wear to an upcoming wedding, have no fear – I’ve got the information that will help you learn what’s appropriate to wear, no matter what type of wedding you’re attending.

What you wear to a wedding will usually depend on what the invitation says. For example, if the invitation says “casual,” that doesn’t normally mean you can throw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and be good to go.

Throw on a simple dress or a skirt and semi-dressy shirt, and don’t be afraid to accent the outfit with a pair of silver chandelier earrings or a bold brooch (especially if the outfit is neutral.)

For formal weddings, (i.e., the invitation says black tie), wedding guests are expected to be dressed to the nines. For these weddings, you’ll want to choose a floor-length formal gown. Never, I repeat, NEVER choose a gown that will take attention away from the bride, however – that’s a wedding faux pas you simply cannot make. Instead, choose a formal gown that you can see yourself wearing again.

If the bride-to-be is holding a destination wedding, what you wear will depend on the destination! For warm climates, choose an outfit that’s cool and lightweight – don’t be afraid of a little color, either!

For cooler weather, the last thing you want to do is wear a skin-baring dress – do you really want to freeze at the wedding? In this case, choose a dressy pantsuit or skirtsuit combination like this one; you’ll be relatively warm and stylish for a destination wedding in a colder climate.

While choosing what to wear to a wedding can be a mind-numbing task, with these tips you’ll be armed with everything you need to know about choosing an appropriate outfit.

If you’re still in doubt – ask the bride! She’ll be able to tell you exactly what you should wear.

Designer Handbags for Less

Designer handbags typically cost an arm and a leg to own; fortunately, there are several retailers that offer designer handbags at a fraction of their normal price. While they are still not “cheap” by most standards, if you’re dieing to own the latest Fendi or Betsey Johnson handbag, it may be worth it to check out these fabulous finds.

eFashionHouse  are known for carrying a large selection of discount designer handbags for much less than retail price. For example, check out this Betsey Johnson tote; at $40, you are saving over 30% off the retail price. How can you go wrong with that? Alternatively, you could go for this Donna Karna hobo-style purse; at $59, you’re saving 26%.

While Bluefly carries an extensive collection of designer duds at discount prices, their handbag selection seems to be the most comprehensive. While you are still going to pay a pretty penny for most of the handbags here, you can usually nab a designer handbag at substantial savings. Grab the latest Kenneth Cole spring tote for 40% off retail price; it’s bold red color really pops.

At $117 dollars, this Stuart Weitzman leopard cosmetic case seems a bit pricey, but when you consider the 40% savings, you may decide it’s worth it to invest in this designer bag!

Handbag Crew also offers a superior collection of designer handbags for less, with bags from such designers as Prada, Fendi  and Burberry. Grab this unique Fendi handbag for $300 – a steal considering the retail price of $700! If you really want to make a statement, pick up this fire-engine red Prada handbag. It’s roomy enough to hold everything you need (and then some,) and offers a huge discount off the retail price of $1,200.

If you’re dieing to snap up a designer handbag for less, look no further than the previous e-retailers. Guaranteed to be authentic, you can invest in a designer handbag for much less than you’d normally pay.

Happy shopping!

Designer Looks for Less

In a perfect world, we’d all be able to afford the latest designer fashions. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world – but you can nab designer look-a-likes you love for a lot less.

Below are my favorite designer pieces, and their significantly cheaper counterparts. Sure, you won’t have the label – but you’ll have the look!

Why spend $2000 on this designer sheath dress when you can get the look for less than $20 with this Xhilaration tank dress? It’s a fun and flirty little black dress that won’t set you back a mortgage payment.

For a totally spring look, this crochet blouse looks perfect – but the price leaves much to be desired! Fortunately, this totally cute embroidered top will be just as trendy and will only set you back $20.

These ballet flats are very wearable, and look good with everything from denim to dresses. Cop the same look for less with these ballet flats from Forever21; they are a steal at $18!

This Burberry satchel looks amazing, but the price? Not so much! Thankfully, this designer look-a-like bag offers the same fashion benefits, but at $68 you can actually afford it.

Even if you can’t afford to splurge on designer fashions, these designer looks are still just as trendy – and way cheaper than their pricey counterparts!
