Beachwear Basics for Men

With summer around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what you plan to wear to look your best on this beach this year.

If you think it doesn’t matter what you wear, think again – don’t you want the bikini-clad women to check you out while you’re strutting your stuff? If so, opt for these beachwear basics:

The one essential item men must have are a pair of well-fitting swim trunks. Seriously; leave a little to the imagination, men! We don’t need to see what you’re packing – swim trunks are a much better choice than a speedo (please, PLEASE don’t wear one. Please.)

Of course, you’ll also want to pack a pair of footwear that’s convenient to wear at the beach – don’t be a goober and wear sneakers; that look is better suited to the gym than the beach. Invest in a few pairs of flip-flops; you’ll be comfortable and stylish.

Tired of the hot sun beating down on your bare skin? Grab a polo shirt to throw on when you’re done swimming for the day. You’ll be comfortable and cool; plus, you can keep your swim trunks or board shorts on if they’re a neutral color. How convenient is that?

If you plan on spending a lot of time at the beach this summer, don’t leave home with these beachwear basics every man should own. And seriously… do I have to say it again? No speedos, for the sake of everyone – please!

How to Walk in Heels

High heels are a wardrobe staple; they can be toned down for work, or played up and “sex-ified” for a night on the town. There’s no doubt that heels are fun to wear, but NOT if you can’t walk in them!

If you’d love to wear heels but don’t want to break your neck walking in them, follow this simple guide to get used to them. Soon enough, you’llĀ  be able to strut your stuff in heels all over town!

In order to practice walking in heels, grab your favorite pair and sit down on a flat surface. Put them on, and slowly stand to get used to the new height. If you want, grab onto a sturdy object in case you feel like you’re going to fall.

Once you get the hang of simply standing in heels, try moving forward (slowly at first) by placing one foot in front of the other. As you walk, circle around, walk back and forth, and generally try to get comfortable walking around in them. Try with a shorter heel at first; once you are comfortable, you can move up to higher heels.

Don’t swing your arms as you’re walking, but rather remain controlled and relaxed. The more relaxed you are, the easier it will be to walk in heels. Avoid the jerky robot look, and don’t look down at your feet as you walk.

Avoid any dangerous terrain that could cause your heel to get stuck, get loose or break off. Once you practice and feel comfortable, it’s time to show the world what you’ve got!

Remember – practice makes perfect!
